Ferguson Student Center
THE STORY
The Ferguson Student Center (a.k.a “the Ferg”) is referred to as the heart of The University of Alabama’s campus. The facility offers students a common gathering place to socialize, eat & relax. It also plays host to numerous events and programs all aimed to “maximize each student’s learning experience by supporting, supplementing, and completing the overall mission of The University”.
The University invited Formula to help provide a more welcoming environment that celebrates student life and the history of the Student Center on campus. Elements were strategically intended not to look as if they were a new addition. Rather, the plan was to create the perception that they were an integral part of the building since day one.
Work was completed in two phases. The second phase capping off the project with a novel timeline application showing significant events on campus paralleled with an illustration of enrollment growth through time.
